Installing Presstack
Download the right file from your account and install it in WordPress, step by step.
Installing Presstack works the same way as installing any other plugin or theme in WordPress: you download a file from your Presstack account, then upload it to your site. You don't need to unzip anything or use any special tools.
Before You Start
You'll also want to know which version you're on. If you're not sure, see Which Version Do I Have?.
Download From Your Account
- Sign in to your Presstack account.
- On your account dashboard, find Get Your Software.
- Press Download on the card for your version:
- Presstack Core, if you have Writer & SEO or Core. The file is
presstack-core.zip. - Presstack Theme, if you have the Theme. The file is
presstack-theme.zip.
Your computer will save the file, usually into your Downloads folder. Leave it as a zip file; WordPress unpacks it for you.
You'll only see the downloads your licence covers, so you can't accidentally pick one that would clash with your setup. If you ever need an older version, or want to see what changed between versions, look under Changelog & older versions.
Install The Plugin (Writer & SEO And Core)
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New, then press Upload Plugin at the top.
- Choose
presstack-core.zipand press Install Now. - When it finishes, press Activate.
That's it. Nothing about how your site looks changes when you activate it. Your theme, your page builder and your existing pages all stay exactly as they were. Presstack works quietly alongside them.
Install The Theme
- In WordPress, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New, then press Upload Theme at the top.
- Choose
presstack-theme.zipand press Install Now. - When it finishes, press Activate.
The Theme builds its pages with Elementor, a popular page builder for WordPress. If you don't have it yet, the Getting Started list on your dashboard shows an Install Elementor button, so you don't have to go looking for it.
What Happens Next
There's no long setup wizard to click through. Once Presstack is active, a Presstack item appears in the menu on the left of your WordPress admin, and your Dashboard shows a short Getting Started list of the few things worth doing first.
The next two steps are adding your licence key and connecting Google.
Until you add a licence, you'll see a notice saying that Cleo, AI writing and SEO need an active subscription, with a Manage your plan link. That's expected, and it goes away as soon as your key is in.
