What Cleo Does On Her Own

The Autonomy screen: what Cleo may do without asking, what she always asks about, and how to pause everything.

Updated

Out of the box, Cleo asks before she touches your site. As you get used to her, you can let her get on with the routine jobs by herself. Autonomy is where you decide which.

Open Cleo → Autonomy. Only an administrator can change these settings.

The Rule That Never Changes

Your pages are never changed without your approval. Whatever you choose below, the words, images and layout of your pages and products always wait for you to say yes.

The Choices

JobWhat it coversChoicesStarts on
Your ContentThe words, images and layout of your pages and products.None: it Always Asks.Always Asks
Behind The Scenes FixesSchema, image descriptions, redirects for missing pages, search visibility and image compression. Never the words or layout of a page.Ask Me or AutomaticAsk Me
Search ListingsThe titles and descriptions people see in Google. Your pages stay exactly as they are.Ask Me or AutomaticAsk Me
Blog Post UpkeepPublished blog posts only, never your pages. Adding links between posts and fixing broken ones, and refreshing posts that are losing traffic (once a week at most per post).Ask Me, Links Only or Links And RefreshesAsk Me
New Blog PostsPosts written from your Blog Calendar.Save As Drafts or Publish On ScheduleSave As Drafts
Cleo's NotesWhat Cleo learns about your business as she works. Only her notes change, never your website.Ask Me or AutomaticAutomatic

Ask Me means Cleo suggests the change in your To Do list and waits. Automatic means she goes ahead, and the change appears in your History like everything else.

For some jobs, switching on shows Before You Turn This On, explaining exactly what it means. Press I Understand, Turn It On to confirm.

Tip: A good order to hand things over: Behind The Scenes Fixes first (they never change what people read), then Search Listings, then Blog Post Upkeep. Keep New Blog Posts on Save As Drafts until you're happy with how Cleo writes for you.

Pausing Everything

Pause Presstack stops all background work at once: scheduled posts, checks and fixes. It's useful during a launch, a handover or a holiday. Press Pause, and a banner reminds you that nothing runs until you press Resume.

Always True

Whatever you choose here, Presstack never deletes anything by itself, never changes your settings, menus or protected pages, and any change it makes to a page, post, product or image can be put back for 30 days.
