Introduction
What Presstack is, who Cleo is, the three versions, and how to find your way around these docs.
Most websites slowly go stale. Articles stop getting written, search titles get left on their defaults, links break, and nobody notices until the enquiries dry up. That's not because the owner doesn't care. It's because keeping a website in shape is a steady stream of small jobs, and small jobs are the first thing to go when you're busy.
Presstack is built to take those jobs off your hands. It puts an AI assistant called Cleo inside your WordPress site. You tell her about your business once, and from then on she writes your articles, keeps your search titles and descriptions in good order, checks the site every day and fixes what breaks.
You Stay In Charge
Cleo doesn't go off and do things behind your back. Out of the box, she asks before she changes anything. You see what she wants to do, why, and what it will cost if it costs anything, and you say yes or no.
Once you've watched her work for a while, you can let her get on with the routine jobs on her own: the behind-the-scenes fixes, for example, while she still asks about anything that touches your words. You choose which jobs, and you can change your mind at any time.
Everything she does is listed with the date, so there's never a mystery about what changed or when.
No Prompts To Write
You don't need to know anything about AI to use Presstack. There are no prompts to write and no settings to tune. Cleo works from what she knows about your business: what you do, where you do it, who your customers are and how you like to sound. That lives in one place called the Knowledgebase, and every article, page and description she writes draws on it. Tell her something once and she uses it everywhere.
The Three Versions
Presstack comes in three versions. They all have Cleo at the centre; the difference is how much else comes with her.
| Version | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Writer & SEO | A plugin for the site you already have | Getting articles written and keeping the SEO sound |
| Presstack Core | The same plugin with everything switched on | Adds rank tracking, keyword research, AI answer checks and new pages built for you |
| Presstack Theme | The whole website: theme, design system and Cleo | A brand new site, or a full rebuild |
If you're happy with how your site looks, one of the two plugin versions is the right fit. They leave your theme and page builder exactly as they are and work alongside them. The Theme is different: it becomes the website itself, so it suits people starting fresh.
Not sure which one you have? Which Version Do I Have? explains how to tell, and what each one includes.
How These Docs Are Organised
The docs follow the same order as the menu inside Presstack, so whatever screen you're looking at, there's a section to match.
- Getting Started: installing, adding your licence, connecting Google, and what to do in your first week. Start here.
- Knowledgebase: what Cleo knows about your business, and how to teach her more.
- Working With Cleo: her home screen, the To Do list, the History of changes, and the jobs she can do on her own.
- Writing, Pages, SEO, Rankings And Research, Images and Shop: one section for each part of the product.
- Theme Design: colours, fonts, headers and templates, for Presstack Theme sites.
- Agencies, Account And Billing, Security And Privacy and Troubleshooting.
