Let Cleo Fill It In
How Cleo drafts your Knowledgebase from your own website, what she reads, and why nothing changes until you save.
Filling in a Knowledgebase from scratch is the kind of job that gets put off. So Cleo can do the first draft for you, using the best source there is: the website you already have.
What Happens When You Press It
- Open any Knowledgebase screen and press Let Cleo Fill It In at the top. While she works, the button says Cleo Is Reading Your Site….
- Cleo reads your home page and up to eight other pages, starting with the ones most likely to describe the business, such as your about, services, areas, contact, team and pricing pages. She skips blog posts, privacy pages and shop pages.
- From what she reads, she drafts the empty parts of your Knowledgebase: your business name, phone, email and description, your services, what makes you stand out, the areas you cover, who you're talking to, and how you sound.
- When she's done you'll see how many details she filled in, for example Cleo Filled In 12 Details From Your Website.
It's free. Reading and drafting your Knowledgebase doesn't use any credits.
She Only Fills The Gaps
Cleo never overwrites anything you've already typed. If a field has something in it, she leaves it alone, however short it is. She only fills empty fields, and she's told to use only what your website actually says, never to invent details.
If everything she could find is already filled in, you'll see Nothing New To Fill In.
Nothing Is Saved Until You Say So
This is the important part. Cleo's draft sits in the boxes on screen, but it isn't kept until you press Save Changes. So:
- Go through each screen she filled: Business, Services, Location and Brand & Voice.
- Read what she wrote. Change anything that isn't quite right; you know your business better than your website does.
- Press Save Changes on each screen.
If you leave without saving, nothing changes.
If It Doesn't Work
You'll see Cleo Couldn't Fill It In. if she couldn't read enough of your site to work from. It usually means the site is very new and has little written on it yet. In that case, fill in the main details yourself; even a few lines on the Business and Services screens make a real difference to everything Cleo writes.
