Blog Settings
The defaults every post follows: voice, audience, length, images, links and categories.
Blog → Blog Settings is where you set how Cleo writes for your blog. Set it once and every post follows it, whether you write it from New Post or the Auto Writer writes it for you.
Voice + Audience
- Tone: leave it on Inherit KB Voice (Recommended) and posts use the voice from your Knowledgebase's Brand & Voice. Or choose Warm + Friendly, Professional, Plain + Practical, Authoritative or Playful for the blog only.
- Audience: who the blog is written for.
- Local Area In Posts: whether posts mention where you work.
- Experience Signals (E-E-A-T): weaves in signs of real experience, which Google looks for. On by default.
- Search Intent: whether posts lean towards people learning, comparing or ready to act.
- Language: the language posts are written in.
- Weave In Real Proof (Proof Bank) and Weave In Real Reviews: let Cleo use your real results and reviews.
- Pre-Publish Self-Audit: Cleo checks each post over before it's saved.
Length
Target Word Count sets how long posts are. Long (1,200 to 1,500 words) or In-depth (2,000 to 2,500) suit posts you want to rank for a long time; shorter posts suit news and quick answers.
Images
Each post gets one featured image, or none. Under Featured Image choose:
- AI Generate: a new image made for the post, in your brand's style;
- Reuse A Matching Library Image (Else AI-Generate): use a suitable image you already have, and only make a new one if there isn't one (reusing an image is free);
- No Featured Image.
You can also set the Aspect Ratio, the Image Style, and Use Brand Colours In Images.
Every image gets a description for screen readers and Google. It starts as the post title and is then replaced with a description of what's actually in the picture.
Links
- Internal Links: weaves links to your other pages into each post.
- Must-Link Pages: pages every post should link to where it fits, such as a booking page.
- Reciprocal Linking: when a new post goes up, adds links to it from your related older posts. This runs when Cleo → Autonomy → Blog Post Upkeep allows links.
- Repair Links On Delete: fixes links that would break when a post is deleted.
Categories
Plan For These Categories chooses which categories the calendar plans for, and Rotation Strategy how it moves between them. To add or rename categories, use Blog → Categories.
Drafts
Save As Drafts For Review is on by default: new automatic posts wait in your drafts for you to read. Turn it off and up to three automatic posts go live each week. It's the same setting as New Blog Posts in Cleo → Autonomy.
