History And Putting Things Back
Every change made to your site, newest first, and how to put a change back.
Handing jobs to an assistant is only comfortable if you can always see what they did, and undo it. That's what History is for.
Open Cleo → History. It lists everything Presstack has changed on your site, newest first, grouped by day.
Reading The List
At the top, three tiles sum up the last week: Changes In The Last 7 Days, how many were To Pages, Posts And Products, and how many were Behind The Scenes.
Each change shows what it was, the time, whether it was Content or Behind The Scenes, and who made it. Narrow the list with Everything, Pages, Posts And Products or Behind The Scenes.
On each change you can:
- Show Change: see exactly what changed;
- Page History: see every change made to that page;
- Open: go to the page;
- Put Back: return it to how it was.
Putting Something Back
Press Put Back on any change and confirm. Cleo puts back what was there before.
Changes to pages, posts, products and images can be put back for 30 days. After that, the saved copy expires and you'll be told it can no longer be put back.
Putting Back Everything Since A Date
If you want to roll back a whole run of changes, for example everything since yesterday morning, press Put Back Everything Since… at the top. You'll see each change with its status:
- Can Put Back: Presstack has a copy and can restore it.
- Check By Hand: Presstack can't restore it by itself, so it's listed for you to look at.
Tick the ones you want and press Put Back Selected. If someone has saved a page since Presstack changed it, that page is never overwritten; your newer work always wins.
What Can't Be Put Back
A few kinds of change aren't covered: redirects, merged categories or tags, and new coupons.
