Blueprints
Make one page you're happy with, then use it as the design for a page per service or per town.
Lots of businesses need the same page many times over: one for every service, or one for every town they cover. Writing each one by hand takes forever, and copying one page and changing the town name gives Google the same page again and again, which it doesn't like.
Blueprints solves this. You make one page you're happy with, and Cleo uses it as the design for the rest. Each new page keeps the layout but gets its own words, written for its service and area, with its own search title, description, web address and focus keyword.
Blueprints come with Presstack Core and the Presstack Theme. Open Pages → Blueprints.
Making A Page Into A Blueprint
There are two ways:
- On Pages → All Pages, open a page's More menu, choose Set As Blueprint, and say what kind of page it is: Service, Local, FAQ or General.
- On Pages → Blueprints, under Pick A Page To Use As The Design, press Use This Design on a page.
A blueprint needs to be a published page with a reasonable amount of writing on it. Your header, footer and logo are never changed.
Making One Page From It
Press Create Page on a blueprint and fill in:
- Service / Page Topic and, optionally, an Area;
- Additional Details: anything specific to this page;
- Do Images As Well: recreate the blueprint's pictures for the new service, and choose which;
- When Created: Save As Draft or Publish Now.
Estimated Cost shows the total. Press Create Page, confirm the cost, and Cleo copies the design, rewrites the words, recreates the pictures you chose and writes the search details.
Every page starts as a draft. It only goes live at the very end, and only if you chose Publish Now and the page says something of its own:
- if it's too close to one of your existing pages, it's held back as a draft and you're told why;
- if the words couldn't be rewritten (for example, you ran out of credits), it stays a draft and you're told, so a copy of the blueprint never goes live.
Making Many At Once
Under Missing Pages, Presstack lists every service and area combination from your Knowledgebase that doesn't have a page yet. Tick the ones you want, press Create Selected, choose the blueprint, and confirm the total cost.
Cleo makes them one after another, as drafts for you to check and publish. Making many at once is words only: the pictures stay as they are on the blueprint. You can Stop at any time; anything not made yet stays on the list.
